Oh My Goodness! Have You Seen the Gingerbread Baby??
Today we decorated our Gingerbread Baby, set our tables in anticipation of a yummy treat after recess and we went to lunch. When we got back, we couldn't believe the Gingerbread Baby had jumped right off the pan and out the door. He ran up the hill and we couldn't find him. Please be on the lookout for that little rascal. We really want to eat it!

What's that Smell??
Today we had a cooking class and made a gingerbread baby! The kids enjoyed cracking eggs, measuring water, and stirring all the ingredients to make a yummy smelling gingerbread baby. It had to cool, so on Friday, we will make him look more like a gingerbread baby and put on some frosting and toppings. Then we can eat it all up!

Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett
Today we read Jan Brett's The Gingerbread Baby. Matti had such a great time creating a gingerbread baby that we decided to make one, too! We are going to make a Gingerbread Baby tomorrow and we promise to be more patient than Matti was and wait the full time to let it bake.

Daisy Comes Home
Today Mrs. L. had the class create a Chinese egg for our Happy Hens Basket. Each student wrote their name in Chinese characters on an egg and we have them all in a basket, just like in Daisy Comes Home. Did you know while Jan Brett was writing that book, she intended to title it Happy Hens? I bet we'll be reading that book again when we do our schoolwide passport to China!

Frobscottle and Whizzpoppers!!
Today, the BFG delivered some Frobscottle. It was scrumptious and very, very berry flavored! Most everyone tried it, the bubbles really did go down instead of up and someone (we won't mention any names here) actually whizzpopped and yelled, "It really does work!!"

Author's Celebration
Next Wednesday, we will celebrate our published writing with parents. You are invited to come in and enjoy your child's great writing along with a little snack. We hope you can make it. We have been working so hard getting our writing published!
About Ms. O.
The most important thing in my life is my family. I have two beautiful daughters who continue to make me proud to be their mom every single day! Kristie works part time as a marketing consultant for the Credit Union. She also works part time for her husband, Brad, who is CEO of Motorbrain.com. Nikki just began her working career in Bangor, working for Dr. Goldberg as a dental assistant. Mark has been my fiance for the last 16 years...no wedding date yet! We enjoy doing outdoor activities together. I have a wonderful mom and dad and three older sisters. We all spend a week together every summer on Moosehead Lake catching up on each others' lives. I am currently in my 13th year teaching and I thoroughly love teaching at the Asa Adam's School in Orono. I have my masters in literacy and I am a Maine Writing Project Teaching Assistant. That allows me to provide professional development on various topics to other interested districts. I also enjoy being an instructor at the college level teaching STT 498.
